Waterford Crystal Claret Jug with Swan Neck Handle, from the Museum Collection Measures 11″ tall and 9″ wide from spout to handle. Only 50 of these were ever made, and this one is #30. The Claret Jug is distinguished by a graceful swan-neck handle, with prismatic cutting on the neck that adds to the visual effect of height. The main body has alternating panels of pillar flutes and plain sharp diamonds. The decorative serrated top is formed by the master blower’s scissors. The ample circular base has a star cut design underneath which helps to convey an overall impression of stability. The flat cutting sweeping up the foot pays tribute to the quality of glass produced and the geometric accuracy of the master cutter. Bottom is signed “Waterford Museum Collection 30 of 50”. Claret Jug measures about 11 ¾” tall by 9 ½” wide from spout to handle. Solidly crafted at almost 6 pounds. Comes with the COA book, signed by Dr. E.P. Galvin (Chief Executive of Waterford Crystal Limited) and Dr. Patrick F. Wallace (Director of the National Museum of Ireland). Excellent condition, with only a couple of minor fleabite marks. COA book is lightly worn from age.
