Our photographs don’t do these opals justice. From a straight on view, the opals are a luminescent green.
When the light catches the opals at an angle, you can see the fiery red glow reaching up from the sides.
This 14k yellow gold ring is set with nineteen opals. The center opal is approximately 6mm, and the tiers of surrounding eighteen opals are apx. 3mm wide. We estimated the total carat weight at about 2 carats.
The opals are all in excellent condition. No scratches or flaws that we can see.
The opal setting measures about 5/8″ wide, and rises 1/2″ above the finger.
The ring is a finger size 5.75, and weighs 5.0 grams.
The ring is marked 14k and signed KSK, the maker’s mark for the Kritzer, Stern & Klein, Inc. jewelry company in New York.
We place this ring as mid-century, circa 1950’s, 1960’s.
